Getting started with ODP

How can I be approved for Pennsylvania ODP services?

Approval begins with Pennsylvania’s public eligibility process. Dakota Connections can explain our services, but your county MH/ID office—not a provider—determines eligibility.

01

Contact your county office

Contact your local Mental Health/Intellectual Disabilities (MH/ID) office and request an appointment to register for ODP supports and services.

02

Gather supporting records

Bring available medical, psychological, developmental, and school records that may help establish eligibility.

03

Complete the eligibility review

The county MH/ID office reviews the documentation and determines whether the person meets Pennsylvania’s eligibility requirements.

04

Identify support needs

If eligible, the person’s needs are assessed and a Supports Coordinator helps with person-centered planning and available service options.

05

Explore waiver enrollment

Eligibility does not guarantee immediate waiver funding. Waiver enrollment depends on assessed need, program requirements, priority, and available capacity.

Pennsylvania ODP waivers

Understanding the waiver programs

These programs can help eligible people receive support at home and in their communities. The county MH/ID office determines eligibility; the services a person receives depend on their approved individual support plan and program rules.

Consolidated Waiver
